altChristian Service

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. –Mark 10:45

Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
–Romans 12:15

A few of our ongoing service projects and groups are listed here.  For information on our Braille Center, Music Ministry, Youth and Senior Groups, and Swaddling Clothes, use the menu bar above.

In addition to the ongoing projects listed below, we do periodic drives and/or have volunteered at:

LCMS World Relief and Human Care --mission support, disaster relief, acts of mercy

Lutherans for Life and area Crisis Pregnancy Centers (see below)

Voice of the Martyrs, whose ActionPak program delivers packages filled by our members to Christians around the world being persecuted for their faith

Community Storehouse:  Messiah donates food and funds to the Christian Community Storehouse of Keller, which gives aid to needy families in Keller.  Our school children bring in canned goods as chapel offerings and many of our members remember the Storehouse when shopping for their own families.  Donations of non-perishable items can be left in the basket in the narthex.  We also maintain a small in-house food pantry, because some of our members live outside the Community Storehouse’s area of service.

Pregnancy Help 4 U:  This is a pregnancy medical clinic helping the cities of Keller, Roanoke, North Fort Worth, and Argyle by providing free medical services and accurate information on all options regarding unplanned pregnancy, including adoption and parenting. Counseling services are available for the pregnant women and their young men.  All of this is done in a loving, Christian environment.   Some Messiah members serve there as counselors.  The school and church conduct a joint "Baby Bottle Fundraiser" to raise money for the clinic.

Prison Fellowship Angel Tree:  Each Christmas at Messiah, we collect Christmas gifts for approximately 80 area children who have incarcerated parents.  Each child receives one article of clothing and one game or toy.  These gifts, purchased by members and school families of Messiah, are given to the children on behalf of that parent.  Many of these families are in need, and we have also provided food and clothing to them.  They are also given an age-app ropriate Bible story or devotion book.
